The Shankaracharya of Kanchi Jayendra Saraswathi has been
granted bail by the Madras High Court in the assault case
against him.
But he's not out of jail yet because his bail application in
the Shankararaman murder case is pending before the Supreme
Court.
Granting the bail, Justice R Balasubramaniam directed the
seer to furnish a personal bond for Rs 25,000 with two
sureties for like amount.
The Judge also said further conditions of the bail would be
subject to the outcome of the seer's bail plea in the
Sankararaman murder case, coming up for hearing in the
Supreme Court on January 6.
