Six policemen were killed early this morning in a landmine
blast in Tumkur district on the Karnataka-Andhra Pradesh
border.
Naxalites targeted the Karnataka State Reserve Police (KSRP)
camp at Venkammanahalli in Pawagarh taluk, said S N Borkar,
director general of police, Karnataka.
Karnataka, which has been relatively free of naxal activity,
has seen a spurt in attacks by Naxalites in recent weeks.
