Route 25G is a direct east–west spine linking Poonamallee in the far west to the heritage and coastal core at Anna Square (Chepauk). At 27.4 km, it provides one of the few single-bus connections between the western suburbs (Poonamallee, Koyambedu) and the Marina–Chepauk end of the city without changing at Broadway or T Nagar. The 6-minute average frequency — among the best in the western corridor — makes it one of the more reliable options for commuters on this belt.
⚠ Poonamallee is in the west of Chennai — this route runs west to east/southeast. Do not confuse with southern corridor routes.

Traveller Tips
CMBT interchange: Koyambedu is the most important interchange on this route. Passengers who need intercity buses (SETC, TNSTC), the Metro, or connections to Porur or Anna Nagar should plan around the Koyambedu stop.
T Nagar shopping: Route 25G deposits passengers directly at T Nagar Bus Terminus — the most practical bus access point for Pondy Bazaar and the commercial district.
Anna Square on match days: CSK IPL matches at Chepauk Stadium cause significant crowding. Add 20–30 minutes on match days and consider alighting one stop earlier.
Metro complement: The Chennai Metro Blue Line from Koyambedu to Chennai Central runs parallel to part of this route. For passengers who prioritise predictable journey time, the Metro between Koyambedu and the city centre may be preferable during peak hours.
