Harbour is Assembly Constituency No. 18 — an SC reserved constituency with the smallest voter roll of any Chennai constituency at 1,16,896. It encompasses one of Chennai’s most historically dense and commercially important districts: George Town — the city’s original commercial quarter, founded by the East India Company and still home to wholesale markets, textile bazaars, and the Chennai Port interface. The constituency is bounded by the Buckingham Canal to the west and the Bay of Bengal/port zone to the east.
