Tamil Nadu Assembly Election Confirmed for April 23 — Chennai Constituencies to Watch

The Election Commission confirmed polling across all 234 Tamil Nadu constituencies on April 23, with results on May 4. The Model Code of Conduct came into immediate effect on March 15. In the latest development, Vijay’s Tamizhaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) confirmed on March 18 it will contest solo, declining to join either the DMK or AIADMK alliance. Chennai’s key seats to watch include Velachery, Sholinganallur, and Chepauk–Thiruvallikeni. There are 5.67 crore eligible voters statewide, including 12.51 lakh first-time voters.
