CSK ROAR ’26 — Dhoni, Raina, AR Rahman at Chepauk This Sunday

March 22

Chennai Super Kings have announced ROAR ’26, a first-of-its-kind mega fan event on March 22 at the iconic MA Chidambaram Stadium. The evening promises a fusion of cricket, nostalgia, and entertainment, turning the historic Chepauk ground into a pulsating arena of music and lights.

The centrepiece of the night is a cricket match-up between generations. OG Super Kings including legends like Suresh Raina, Matthew Hayden, Murali Vijay and S Badrinath will return to Chepauk and take on the current CSK squad in a series of special, never-seen-before match-ups designed to celebrate the team’s legacy and its loyal fanbase. For fans who grew up watching Raina’s trademark square cut at the same ground, or who idolised Hayden’s presence at the crease, this will be as close to a time machine as cricket gets.

The musical headline is equally significant. Oscar award-winning music director AR Rahman will deliver a special live performance, turning Chepauk into a pulsating arena of music and lights, filling it with celebration and immersive fan experiences creating memories that last a lifetime. Rahman performing at Chepauk, in the city that gave him his earliest musical education, is a homecoming within a homecoming.

The event promises a fusion of cricket nostalgia, high-energy match-ups, and live music, honouring the franchise’s legacy and its passionate Yellove fanbase. CSK have framed this as more than a pre-season warm-up — it is, in their own words, a tribute to the journey of the franchise and the unwavering love of its supporters.

Tickets went on sale March 15 via the CSK App, the official website, and the District App. CSK warns fans against purchasing from unofficial sources to avoid risks. With this being the only event of its kind this season and demand extremely high, tickets at face value may already be scarce — check the official channels directly.

Why you should go: AR Rahman live at Chepauk alongside the return of Raina and Hayden is not a combination that will repeat itself. Even if the cricket is exhibition-format, the atmosphere of 50,000 yellow-clad fans inside one of India’s most emotional cricket grounds will be something else entirely.
