Born on 30th September 1931, into a family of great eminence, Dr M.A.M. Ramaswamy was educated in some of the best schools and colleges in Chennai. His keen interest in sports took him to great heights. He was the President of the Indian Hockey Federation from 1974 to 1980 during which time the Indian Hockey team won the World Cup and Olympic Gold.
As an industrialist, his acute business acumen made him convert potential into reality, making his industries among the best in the country. He was nominated the Sheriff of Chennai for two terms. His passion for horseracing has made him one of the most celebrated horse owners in the world. Incidentally, he owns over 100 horses and has a record 304 Classic wins to date.
