2.0 Rajikanth’s new super budget movie, is one of the most expensive films made in India. The total production cost is pegged at Rs. 550 Crore. However, much to the dismay of the production house and superstar fans, the movie in HD print was leaked online by Tamil Rockers.
In anticipation of piracy, the Madras High Court recently ordered to block over 12,000 websites. This includes over 2000 web domains which has been suspected to belong to Tamil Rockers. The cyber crime departmental efforts to bring down Tamil Rockers have not yet been successful. One of the main reasons being, the multiple proxy servers based from Russia, Ukraine,… which give web pirates immunity from legal action. It has also been observed that many movies leaks have it’s source from countries like Malaysia or Europe. The department efforts to block a URL Sections 69(b) and 70 of Information Technology Amendment Act 2008 has also not paid off. For web pirates end up creating an alternate proxy URL within minutes of taking down the original URL.
Rajikanth’s outraged fans have been requesting cybercrime authorities to take down Tamil Rockers.
